Getting a new connection under any electricity distribution company can be generally done in two ways – physical or online. The physical process will involve a lot of paperwork and you would need to send the proper documents to the distribution office by post or in person. - Some documents are needed – You would need to provide some documents – a passport size photograph, an identity proof among voter ID, Aadhaar Card, Ration Card, PAN Card, driving license or photo identity card that has been issued by a government agency, proof of ownership of premises like a certified copy of registered conveyance deed, certified copy of title deed, possession letter, GPA, lease agreement with no objection certificate and the proof of ownership of landlord and lastly, certification of registration or incorporation (if the applicant is an organisation).
- Submission – You are definitely allowed to submit the form online. Otherwise, you need to visit the divisional office personally along with the completed form. You can find the list of divisional offices on the website itself. You need to keep in mind that the online form filling is accompanied by capturing a photo of the applicant and digital signature. To fill the form online, you need to create an account on the website. Following that, you need to log in and select the option for ‘New Connection’. You would be asked for the request type – where you have to put in the maximum power consumption at your place. Once you do that, you will be presented a form with 5 sections – Application Details, Address Details, Category and General Particulars, Photo & Signature Upload and Documents Upload. For a successful request, you should fillup the form religiously.
