Born in 1979, Miki Agrawal has accomplished far more than many of her peers at the age of 43. A Texas native, Miki Agrawal was actually born in Montreal, Canada. She is multi-lingual and speaks Hindi, French, English, Japanese, and Spanish. She has an identical twin sister, with whom she is extremely close. A wife and mother, Miki is proud of her family in addition to the three companies that she has founded over the years. In fact, she says that playing with her son is one of her greatest joys in life.
Miki Agrawal is a social entrepreneur, who questions the way things have always been done. Take, for example, her first business endeavor, WILD. WILD is a farm-to-table restaurant in New York City. The interesting thing about WILD is that Miki founded it before farm-to-table was such a popular trend. It’s entirely possible that Miki Agrawal actually helped contribute to the trend.
Her next endeavor was Thinx, a period panty for women. Not only has Thinx transformed the way woman handle their menstrual cycle, but the company has donated thousands of Thinx to teens in Africa.
And now there is TUSHY, which Miki Agrawal is also very proud of.
Q: Can you tell us what your company TUSHY is all about?
A: It’s a bidet attachment that attaches to any standard toilet. Anyone can install it without having to hire a plumber. We recently finished another funding round for TUSHY, too. And, our latest TUSHY innovation is an electric version, which comes with a designer remote control. We’re very excited about it!
Q: What’s the greatest thing about TUSHY?
A: I’m most proud because of the number of trees that can be saved from not using so much toilet paper. In one year, 15 million trees are killed because of toilet paper use. So I’m proud to be able to save that many trees. I’m also happy to be able to improve personal hygiene. My goal is to bring a bidet into every American bathroom!
Q: How would you describe your perfect business partner?
A: I think it would be someone who brings the opposite skillset than mine. Someone who is pensive to equal out my passion.
Q: What one person has had the biggest influence on your life?
A: That’s an easy one; my identical twin sister!
Q: If you could tell your younger self one bit of advice, what would it be?
A: I would tell myself not to worry so much about the small stuff.
Q: If you had only one day left to live, how would you spend it?
A: I would spend it outdoors, in nature, with my closest loved ones.
Q: What would you say is your personal mission in life?
A: Definitely to help save the planet and to elevate people.
Q: Do you have a motto or a tagline that you use to live by?
A: I do! Live deep and suck all the marrow out of life that you can!
